Our Value
Kailager is a transformative youth camp for teens aged 12 to 18, held every December. It’s a sacred space where lives are changed, friendships are built, and faith is made personal. The camp empowers young people to know Jesus, walk in purpose, and make an impact on their world.

Supplies for the camp
This is the list of items that will help make your camp experience an easy and comfortable one:
- A stretcher / blow-up mattress/ camping mattress.
- Pillow (no big pillows please!!)
- Sleeping bag
- Cutlery, (plastic cup or bottle, spork, fork, knife and spoon, and a plate, bowl for cereal.)
- Bible, pen, and highlighter
- Sunblock
- Hat/cap
- Pocket money approx. R600
- Raincoat
- Swimming costume/trunks
- Medication regarding allergies or chronic sickness
- Beach towel
- Fitness towel
- Journal or A5 book
- Mosquito repellent
- Body wash
- Travel snacks for the road to camp.
Bedding
Please ensure that you bring along either a yoga mat, a camping mattress (foldable, of course), a blow-up mattress, or a stretcher. There is no space on our buses or trailers to carry bed mattresses. Also, our tents at the campsites will be unable to accommodate bed mattresses, as again, space is limited. Regarding blankets, preferably bring along a sleeping bag and a lightweight small blanket. Heavy blankets are strongly advised against as they either get extremely dirty or wet when it rains. It does not get immensely cold at Kailager; therefore, a duvet is also unnecessary. The best thing to bring for sleeping is a stretcher. They are available at MAKRO, GAME, and Sportsman’s Warehouse. They take little space and do not require pumping up every morning. They are also easy to repackage after camp and easy to store at home

This is the list of items that will help make your camp experience an easy and comfortable one:
- Luggage is to be brought on the day of departure – 16 December 2025. Please make sure that you have all your belongings with you. Ensure that you arrive on time.
- Arrival time (Time teens should arrive): 5:00 am
- Departure time: 6:00 am
- Return date and arrival time: 22 December 2025: 18:00 pm
Prohibitions
We welcome phones and electronic devices during travel for safety and entertainment purposes. However, to create a meaningful camp experience centered on authentic fellowship, spiritual growth, and genuine connections, all electronic devices will be securely stored upon arrival.
Secure Storage System:
- All phones, tablets, gaming devices, and electronic equipment will be stored in our professional-grade security safe
- Each device is individually catalogued and tagged for safe return
- The safe is monitored by camp leadership and accessed only by authorized staff
- Devices are returned to campers before departure on the final day
Prohibited firearms: The Firearms Control Act of 2000 prohibits the possession of any fully automatic firearms (like machine guns) and military-grade launchers.
Explosives and hazardous materials: This includes illegal explosives, fireworks, and other toxic or hazardous substances

At HolyCulture, we believe youth is not just a season — it’s a calling. We exist to see teenagers transformed by the love of Christ and empowered to live boldly for Him. Here’s what we’re all about:
The HolyCulture Youth Ministry is the youth arm of the West Rand Lutheran Community Church. We are passionate about raising a generation of young people who know Jesus personally and live boldly for Him
We minister to over 100 teenagers between the ages of 12 and 18 every Friday evening during the school term. Our sessions run from 19:00 to 21:30, creating a safe and exciting space for teens to connect, grow, and have fun.
Our youth program is centered on helping teenagers grow deeper in their relationship with God. Through solid Bible teaching, interactive lessons, and real conversations, we equip young people to live out their faith in their everyday lives.
